More than 700,000 young people who came to America as children have been protected from deportation under Obama’s executive order, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). DACA recipients, also known as Dreamers, have been able to receive two-year work permits that allow them to work and pay taxes, financial aid and in-state tuition, and most importantly, protection from deportation. Many Dreamers, who came to the US before they could talk, have no memories of being anything but American. Some now have children who are US citizens. There is currently no path to citizenship for Dreamers.
Call your representatives tell them that Dreamers should be here to stay.
2. Call your Senator and/or Representative and use this script:

Trump has threatened to deport millions. Now is the time to declare America’s cities as sanctuaries of safety and disallow local police from doing the work of immigration agents. If your city is not one already, write or call your local mayor and councilmembers, include a link to this article, and ask them, courteously, to: "Please place the matter of making our city a sanctuary city on the next City Council agenda." If they do, show up at the hearing and make the case.
